As new homes become more airtight, ventilation systems are relied upon increasingly to maintain satisfactory indoor air quality. The need for correctly designed, installed, commissioned and maintained mechanical ventilation systems are essential for delivering adequate indoor air quality by extracting stale moist air and delivering fresh clean air.
A variety of airborne pollutants are present in homes and some are associated with serious health effects, including asthma, lung cancer and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
VentfiltersRus have recognized the need to carry out annual inspections, maintenance and servicing of such systems by approved engineers. We offer a service plan which will ensure that clean air is provided all year round and the air volumes complies with the requirements of Part F of the building regulations.
In addition we can provide a system set up and commissioning service where our BPEC registered engineers will carry out a full compliance check to BPEC standards on the installed ventilation system. On completion a certificate will be issued providing the system complies with the air volumes for each habitable room and the extraction rates for each of the wet rooms.
Why replace your filter?
Filters are essential in ensuring a healthier environment within the property, the maintenance of these filters is vital in minimising the amount of dust, bacteria and airborne pollutants in your home whilst maintaining the highest possible return on your heat recovery system.
Over a period of time the filters will collect dirt and debris becoming clogged which reduces the effectiveness of the system in removing airborne pollutants. This will also decrease the flow of fresh air into the dwelling and the extraction of stale air from the wetrooms which can lead to mold and an increase in the noise of the unit.
We recommend that filters should be replaced every 6-12 months but this can vary depending on the location of the home in respect to busy roads or other sources of pollution.
